How to Play Quranle

Translate Quranic passages from Arabic to English and build your vocabulary one day at a time.

The Basics

  1. Each round shows an Arabic passage from the Quran below the game grid.
  2. The word highlighted in bold is the one you need to translate. Words are placed right-to-left to match Arabic reading direction.
  3. Tap the English word from the keyboard that matches the highlighted Arabic word.
  4. Fill all 5 positions in the row, then press ENTER to submit.
  5. You have 5 attempts (rows) per round to get the correct translation.

The Color System

After each guess, the tiles change color to give you feedback:

word

Green — The word is correct and in the right position.

word

Yellow — The word is in the passage but in the wrong position.

word

Gray — The word is not in the passage at all.

5 Rounds of Learning

Each daily game has 5 rounds that progressively challenge you:

  • Rounds 1-2: Translate today's passage. The full Arabic text and transliteration are shown to help you.
  • Rounds 3-5: Translate passages from previous days. Only one Arabic word is shown at a time, testing your memory through spaced repetition.

Getting the answer right early in each round advances you to the next round. If you use all 5 rows without a correct answer, the game ends.

Medals & Trophies

  • 🏅 Medal — Earned for each round you complete successfully.
  • 🏆 Trophy — Earned when you complete all 5 rounds in a single game.
  • 💦 Streak — Tracks how many consecutive days you've played. Miss a day and your streak resets!

Tips for Success

  • Pay attention to the transliteration below each Arabic word — it can help you recognize patterns.
  • Use the color feedback to narrow down your choices. Gray words are eliminated from the keyboard.
  • Play every day to maintain your streak and benefit from spaced repetition in rounds 3-5.
  • Common Quranic words like "Allah," "the," and "and" appear frequently — learning these first gives you an advantage.
